A1 Marine Services is ACAPT certified and has two full time Coast Guard certified captains with towing certificates, as well as one part time captain during the summer months. A1 Marine Services also holds the contract with Boat U.S./Vessel Assist which is known as Vessel Assist Friday Harbor. With four tow boats A1 Marine Services together with Boat U.S./Vessel Assist has been able to meet the needs of boaters in distress in San Juan County and adjacent waters 24 hours a day, seven days a week, averaging 300 - 350 tows/calls a year.

A1 Marine Services/ Vessel Assist have been called upon many times by the San Juan County Sheriffs Dept., the Port of Friday Harbor, the Town of Friday Harbor, and IOSA to help with problems within the county and Port District waters.

In Addition to towing, diving, and salvage A1 Marine Services also does dock construction and repair, float construction and repair, winter float towing and storage, mooring placement and inspections.
